Egg Sambal

With Mak Tok’s Signature and Fire Chilli Paste

  • 8 Eggs
  • 1 jar Mak Tok's Signature Chilli Paste
  • 1 tablespoon Mak Tok's Fire Chilli Paste
  • 1 large Red onion (sliced)
  • 30g Fresh coriander (roughly chopped)
  • 1 large Red chilli (sliced)
  • 100g Feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • Oil for stir frying


1) Boil the eggs in water for 8 minutes. Run the eggs over cold water and remove the shells. Set aside.

2) Pour oil into a pan and heat it up. Add the boiled eggs in and stir fry for 3 minutes before adding the sliced red onions.

3) Add Mak Tok’s Signature Chilli Paste, Mak Tok’s Fire Chilli Paste and water into the pan. Mix them well for about 2 minutes before adding in 3/4 of the red chillies, 3/4 of coriander, and all of the feta cheese. Make sure all is mixed well in the pan.

4) Turn off the heat and garnish the egg sambal with the remaining coriander and chillies.

*Top tip: Goes amazingly well with a bowl of warm jasmine rice.
