Sweet Chilli Pulled Jackfruit
With Mak Tok’s Sweet Chilli Paste
1) Pour some oil in a deep pan and sauté onions and garlic until golden brown.
2) Add jackfruit and water to the sauteed onions and garlic. Cover with lid and simmer on medium-low heat for 15-20 mins.
3) Remove lid and add salt, Mak Tok’s Sweet Chilli Paste, dark brown sugar, tomato puree and soy sauce. Mix well.
4) Remove the pan from heat. Shred the jackfruit using a pair of forks.
*Top tip: if using fresh jackfruit, continue simmering until the jackfruit is soft and tender.
