Ingredients (Tempeh – vegan version)
Nasi Lemak Tempeh Rendang Burger (vegan)
1) Marinade tempeh with Mak Tok’s Rendang Chilli Paste and salt for 5 minutes. Pan fry the tempeh in a pan on medium heat until both sides are lightly charred – usually takes about 4 minutes.
2) Spread peanut butter on both sides of the burger bun and sprinkle desiccated coconut on them. Assemble the burger starting with the bottom of the bun, cucumber, tempeh, Mak Tok’s Rendang Chilli Paste, vegetable crisps, and finally the top of the bun.
Top tip: You can substitute tempeh with tofu using the same steps.
