Auspicious Salad – Yee Sang

  • 1/2 tablespoon Mak Tok's Sweet Chilli Paste
  • 1 tablespoon Booths Redcurrent Jelly (or any raspberry jam)
  • 2 tablespoon Water
  • 150g Carrot
  • 3 British Radish
  • 2 Plums
  • 4 tablespoon Pomegranate seeds
  • 4 inch Celery
  • 10g Pickled ginger
  • 1/4 wedge Lime
  • 30g Mini poppadoms/lentil chips
  • 20g Smoked salmon
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil


1) In a bowl, mix Mak Tok’s Sweet Chilli Paste, Redcurrent Jelly, and water to create the sauce.

2) Cut all ingredients into fine matchsticks and assemble neatly on a plate. Place poppadom on the plate at the end of this step.

3) Drizzle sesame oil, a squeeze of lime, and the sauce we made in step 1 onto the salad.

4) Toss the salad whilst saying all things auspicious and tuck in!
